Disclaimer: The following story may contain spoilers.

As we head into the cuffing season, it’s only natural to want to cosy up with a series and maybe a special someone to get into the spirit of it. Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, as Noah and Joanne, in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This was pretty much a great initiation into the coming season. The couple’s commitment to showing up as their best (yet flawed) selves to their relationship was a welcomed addition to our watchlists. And, if you too fell in love with the plotline and the chemistry between the main leads, then we’re betting you’re looking for shows that’ll leave you with the same emotions Nobody Wants This left you with. While you can watch shows like The OC or The Good Place to get your fix of Noah and Joanne in different universes, we’ve curated several other ones that might invoke the same emotions as Nobody Wants This

Shows To Watch If You Liked Watching Netflix’s Nobody Wants This

Joanne and Noah came together even though they were vastly different. But their chemistry was so evident and healthy that we simply couldn’t pull ourselves away from the show. So, we’ve compiled shows that gave us romantic leads coming together despite their struggles, differences, and beliefs in the cutest ways possible. Take a look…

Love (2016)

Starring Paul Rust (as Gus) and Gillian Jacobs (as Mickey), the show gives a glimpse into the relationship between two people who are trying to build a healthy relationship with one another despite having a history of severe social awkwardness and addiction. But despite being deeply flawed people, their presence in each other’s lives leads to personal growth. So, if you loved seeing Noah and Joanne work to become better versions of themselves, then Love might just do it for you!

Colin from Accounts (2022)

If you’re looking for excellent comic timing and slightly dark comedy, Colin From Accounts is your show. Firstly, the main leads of the show, Ashley (played by Harriet Dyer) and Gordon (Patrick Brammal) meet in the most hilarious way possible. As you get deeper into the show, you’re introduced to two complex characters who are both struggling with personal issues such as dealing with toxic landlords, family members and colleagues (you know, the usual) and health concerns all while trying to be ‘successful’ adults (whatever that’s supposed to mean). We’ll leave you to figure out which of the characters is dealing with which problem! Colin from Accounts bringing two very flawed, but very real people together gives off the same vibe as Joanne and Noah coming together despite the baggage and flaws.

Hometown Cha Cha Cha  (2021)

Starring Kim Seon-ho (as Hong Du-sik ) and Shin Min-a (as Yoon Hye-jin), Hometown Cha Cha Cha gave us a heartwarming storyline between Du-sik and Hye-jin and how despite being so, so different from one another (what with Du-sik being a comfy small-town boy and Hye-jin being a total city girl) they were undeniably drawn to each other. And there is just something about that quiet, unsaid tension between two romantic leads that will inevitably crumble in the best way possible. I mean, weren’t we all on the edge of our seats when Noah and Joanne were about to kiss, because come on, already!

Summertime (2020)

Heartstopper (2022)

Created by Mirko Cetrangolo and Anita Rivaroli, Summertime stars (as Summer) and (as Ale). The plotline is set against Italy’s Coast and follows two people who come from very different worlds, Ale is an ex-motorcycle champion looking to gain control of his life, and Summer is done conforming to society’s expectations and is looking to get away from it all. And FYI, the show is based on the book Three Meters Above the Sky by Federico Moccia. So, Summer and Ale’s relationship sounds similar to how Joanne and Noah came together in a way where the people around them had to step aside and make room for their unlikely union.

Heartstopper (2022)

Heartstopper is based on Alice Oseman’s webcomic and graphic novel and gives us a coming-of-age romance between two individuals in high school. The themes of the show are centred around queerness and self-discovery, especially in the context of being a young adult. We see Kit Conner (played by Nick Nelson) and Joe Locke (as Charlie Spring), navigate being together and coming to terms with their feelings for each other learning how to say the three big words to each other in the sweetest way possible. Somewhat similar to how Joanne battled with how much she liked Noah. Aside from this, the show addresses slightly more serious topics such as eating disorders and mental health concerns.

Little Things (2016)

Starring Dhruv Sehgal and Mithila Palkar, Little Things altered our brain chemistry when it first came out. The story follows two individuals, namely Kavya and Dhruv, who are navigating being in a relationship and showing up as their most authentic selves while doing it. From learning how to manoeuvre in a long-distance relationship, and personal struggles in the career to finally asking the big ol’ question of whether they’re shaadi-ready, we grew up alongside Dhruv and Kavya. Come to think about it, Dhruv and Noah would probably be buddies if they ever met in real life, because they were both such green flags, both helped their partners feel at ease and reassured them in the sweetest ways possible.
